The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, the "Mon and Brec" is visited on our Beauty and the Beast sightseeing tour. Its present rural character and tranquility belies its original purpose as an industrial corridor for coal and iron, which were brought to the canal by a network of tramways and/or railroads, many of which were built and owned by the canal company.

On our tour we will see a functioning locks, lime kilns and wharfs where coal, iron and lime were loaded onto the barges. At the canal side we may also be lucky enough to see kingfishers, herons, and ducks.
